When I was about eight, my mother led me through the maze of passageways that is the casbah. Our destination was Madini's Perfume Shop in Tangier, Morocco.

The cacophony outside disappeared as we were enveloped in the magic of the scents. I was hooked forever.

A few years later we had the good fortune to live for a time in York Castle at the top of the medina. My days were spent running wild and visiting various shopkeepers, sharing mint tea and conversation, but no day was complete without a visit to Madini's where you could plunk down a few Dirham, put your arms in the air and rotate while being sprayed from one of the giant atomizers gleaming on the counter.

Later my mother and I began a small perfume company that sold exclusively to several boutiques in Beverly Hills. We had Sandalwood from Mysore, extraordinary musks from India, fragrances from the Lotus Perfume Palace in Cairo, and of course, the beautiful perfume oils from Madini.

For many years I dreamed of resurrecting our business and the availability of the Madini perfumes made that possible. I will continue to track down some of these other very special perfumes and look forward to being able to share them with you.

As an eight year old I could never have imagined where this aromatic journey would have led. I am now pleased to offer my artisanal natural perfumes as well as bespoke fragrances.
